About the Author
Clark Spencer Larsen heads the Department of Anthropology at Ohio State University, Columbus. A native of Nebraska, he received his B.A. from Kansas State University and M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Clark’s research is in bioarchaeology, skeletal biology, and paleoanthropology. He has worked in North America, Europe, and Asia. He has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Northern Illinois University, Purdue University, and the University of North Carolina. Since 2001, he has been a member of the faculty at Ohio State, where he is a Distinguished Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He teaches introductory physical anthropology, osteology, bioarchaeology, and paleoanthropology. Clark has served as president of the American Associations of Physical Anthropologists and as editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology. In addition to Our Origins, he has authored or edited 25 books and monographs, including Bioarchaeology; Interpreting Behavior from the Human Skeleton, Skeletons in Our Closet, Advances in Dental Anthropology; and A Companion to Biological Anthropology.

Buy the physical book, even if you prefer ebooks.

Awful. The book itself is easy to read as described by other reviewers, but Norton has made this a terrible option for students. Likely you need this book for your college Anthropology course. If so, you will likely need to access Norton's online component. If so, your Kindle will not include your access code, so you will need to buy one on their website. If you do that, you get access to their ebook. However, this ebook is flash based and only accessible with an internet connection. You will almost assuredly not be able to access it on your tablet, iPad, etc. so really you probably needed the Kindle edition too.
There has been some sort of miscommunication between Amazon and Norton and the student/reader is the one losing out. I do not understand why I need to pay over $90 for an electronic file that I can also gain access to for $55 on Norton's website, yet I need to buy both and they cannot just give some sort of bundle option when the physical textbook costs less to purchase brand new with an access code and shipping included on Amazon's website.

It is informative and set up in a logical way which makes it easy to read

I ordered this book used as a rental and actually received a brand new book. It is informative and set up in a logical way which makes it easy to read. The information is interesting and I never dreaded reading the book. It's written at probably a high school level which was a nice break from the usually difficult-to-read college textbooks.
