Not worth reading.

The book is too short and is full of false details. It's also riddled with grammar and punctuation errors. I could have written a better book about Sid & Nancy with more accurate information. Sid did not kill Nancy. The film Who Killed Nancy? has the most accurate information I've ever heard/seen about the death of Nancy.

I only wish this was an actual in depth book,
It would have gladly paid more for an actual account of the days and weeks leading up to Sid and Nancy's star crossed ending.
An actual print version would have been really nice too.
But this all said, it does give the facts (and rumors ) and told me what I wanted to know

Ummm--how did this get published?

I realize that Bengt-Erik Larsson is not a native English speaker. But I would assume that someone who worked on bringing this article from Mr. Larsson 's notebook to my Kindle DOES write English fluently--like, say, the proofreader. And s/he could have paid some attention to the grammar and an editor (or my 7th grader) could have caught the majority of the grammar mistakes, missed words, etc. that make this such a poor read. The story Larsson tells doesn't add much to the story as most of us already know it. And the whole thing is really, really short. I would have been p****d if I had to buy it. (Plug for K Unltd. here. ) Don't waste your time unless you're a die-hard punk (ex-pjnk, post-punk, etc. ). Larsson adds nothing to the story and does it ungrammatically, too. And he does very little to address what happened in room 100 at [sic] Chelsea Hotel. Leave this book on the shelf--it adds nothing to the story.
I gave it 2 stars ONLY because of the supposed subject. I'm a diehard, lived thru it and survived post-punk from a couple of years after but still taken with the mythos of my youthful peers albeit able to leave some of the insanity (& drugs) behind. Too bad so many of us didn't make it, such as Sid and Nancy.

A Good Read, But 'White' is More Concentrated and Concise

This lengthy book isn't needed if you read Hara's book, 'White', which neatly summarizes his philosophy and approach to design. I've given this four stars instead of five simply for length. Hara is at his best when he's working in a concise form (IMO). If you are thinking about this book, check out 'White' first. If you really liked White (like I did) then this is the next step, although much of the material will be repeated and illustrated with case studies that may (or may not) add value for you.

About the Author
Bavina Sookdeo is a woman of many interests, which include (among other things) being an Editor, Writer, Columnist and an English tutor. She honed her writing skills from a very early age is one of the select few who has worked for all three leading newspapers in Trinidad and Tobago. She became a columnist by the age of 21 and an Editor by 26. Since 2013 she has been the Editor of Trinidad's Guardian Energy Magazine series, which highlights news, trends and updates on the goings on in the oil and gas industry. With an affinity for helping the youth, besides being the Editor of Guardian's GIE Network Magazine (2009-2013), she has been instrumental in getting secondary schools throughout Trinidad and Tobago on board with several motivational workshops. Added to this, her talents also touched on the arts, as she has delved into acting and has written several plays. Sookdeo continues to work with the youth and to pen positive pieces in an attempt to help women become all they can be.

About the Author
Surinder Parkash received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 1971. From 1971 until 1993, he gained experience working for national petroleum companies throughout the Middle East and India. From 1994 until 2000, he worked for the Kuwait National Petroleum Company in the corporate planning department and at the Shuaiba Refinery. At present he is working as an independent consultant in the field of oil and gas processing.

The author does a good job in this book of explaining all that individuals in the petrochemical industry would like to know. This book is an excellent guidebook with well regarded diagrams and charts and a clear logical flow in material.

The vast amount of experience of the author in the industry glares at the reader. Highly recommended.

Not very useful for those outsiders

As a practicing chemical engineer with years of experience, albeit, outside of the refining segment of the CPI, I found this book useless. I was hoping for a detailed explanation of processes that might help me learn my way into this side of the business. The PDFs are useful and interesting. I learned a little from that. What I really wanted was a gritty process engineer's view of refining. Instead, I found an overview. If you want to gain an understanding of oil refining, don't go here. Instead, learn what you can from material on-line, such as Hydrocarbon Processing, Chemical Engineering, or other trade magazines, including my own, Chemical Processing.

The title of this book should be "An Overview of Oil Refining Practices."

One of the nicest decks I've used.

Out of all of the Tarot decks I've seen this one has some of the best artwork. My only qualm is a minor one: at the bottom of each card it has a USGames copyright notice which, to me, seems out of place on such a meaningful card. It's barely noticeable but I'd rather it were not there. Otherwise I have nothing but good things to say about this beautiful deck. The included booklet would be perfect for beginners.

The book is written at a lively place, with plenty of first-hand accounts by marines that pull no punches in highlighting the brutal nature of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is well illustrated with maps and 16 pages of black-and-white photographs. It's certainly a compelling read and highly recommended to those with an interest in modern-day conflicts. OSCAR E. GILBERT, Ph.D., is a former marine artilleryman and currently a geoscientist living in Texas. His previous published works include the widely acclaimed "Marine Tank Battles in the Pacific" (2001) and "Marine Corps Tank Battles in Korea" (2003).

Another excellent book in the history of Marine Corps Tanks.The author, Ed Gilbert,refers to it as the last volume in his series.Hang around another 5-10 yrs.,Mr.Gilbert ;,with the world situation volume 5 or 6 may be needed before to long.

Well written history that is part of a multi-volume series beginning with WWII, then Korea and Vietnam. I recommend it - and I've read most of what is available on the subject.

A slow read but we'll worth it of Marine Armoured battles in the Iraq and Afghanistan. Plenty of detail and personnel stories about what it was like and the equipment used.

A lifetime of learning

The Great Ideas Program is unfortunately out of print, so if you see it listed, snap it up because it is well worth your money. Made to accompany the original edition of the Great Books of the Western World and meant to be a detailed expansion/alternate of its Ten Year Reading plan. The Program can also be used with the new edition, or with translations of the books purchased separately, with a little adaptation. The Program offers introductions, historical context and ties to other Great Books and authors. As it is divided topically, it can also be used for a focused course of study. The authors present in each volume 15 works to be read and studied over 2 weeks each, finishing with a list of questions to verify your understanding of the work. Beyond an education, this Program is an experience in immersing yourself in some of the Greatest works of the human mind.
